1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to WorldWise Kids ("the Service"), an educational platform operated by Dead Light Universe Studio ("DLUS," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using WorldWise Kids, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, parents, teachers, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

WorldWise Kids is a free educational platform designed to provide life skills lessons for children in grades K–12. Our Service includes:

• Age-appropriate life skills lessons organized by grade level
• Parent conversation guides and tools
• Teacher resources and classroom-friendly modes
• Quizzes with automatic grading and feedback
• Optional badge system for encouragement
• Curated external resources hub
• Optional donation system

All educational content is and will always remain free. Donations are entirely optional and never required to access learning materials.

3. User Eligibility

For Children: WorldWise Kids is designed for children of all ages. However, children under 13 must have parental or guardian consent to create an account. Reading content does not require an account.

For Parents/Guardians: If you are a parent or guardian allowing a child under 13 to use our Service, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their activity.

For Teachers: Teachers may use the Service in classroom settings without requiring individual student accounts.

4. User Accounts

Optional Accounts: Accounts are optional. Users can access all educational content without creating an account. Accounts enable features like bookmarking lessons and earning badges.

Account Security: If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.

Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law
• Harass, abuse, or harm another person, including children
• Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation
• Upload or transmit viruses or any other malicious code
• Collect or track personal information of others without consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Use automated scripts to collect information from or interact with the Service

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on WorldWise Kids, including text, graphics, logos, images, lesson materials, quizzes, software, and other materials ("Content"), is the property of DLUS or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any Content without our express written permission.

7. User-Generated Content

Currently, WorldWise Kids does not support user-generated content such as comments, posts, or public profiles. Should this change in the future, we will update these Terms accordingly.

8. Donations

WorldWise Kids is free to use. We accept optional donations to help cover hosting, development, and accessibility improvements.

No Obligation: Donations are voluntary. Making a donation does not unlock additional content or grant special access.

Non-Refundable: All donations are final and non-refundable, except as required by law.

Payment Processing: Donations are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store credit card information.

9. Third-Party Links and Resources

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to their terms and conditions.

10. Privacy

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

No Warranties: The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Educational Use: WorldWise Kids is designed to supplement education, not replace professional instruction. We make no guarantees regarding educational outcomes.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, DLUS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DLUS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
